Ten-Figure Guide: How Big Is Your Why?

By Rob Walcher

What sets People Apart?

There are some people in this world who no matter what the circumstances will be able to pull off a home run hit in the ninth inning when their team is down by 3. Usually the team always depends on them to win the game and with ease they always seem to come through. There are others who under the same pressure would drop the bat before they even stepped foot on the plate. What is it about the first kind of people that make them so adept and frugally winsome at just the right times in life?

The answer is simple. The people who give up, throw in the towel and decide it is okay to fail didn't have the motivation they needed to begin with. The reasons why they do what they do weren't or aren't compelling enough for them to rise to the occasion and make a winning situation no matter what. They allow their circumstances to control them, rather than control their circumstances.

The players in the game of life who come to bat expecting the home run, even when they are down and out are dramatically able to visualize their "why" or their reason for doing things in every circumstance. They are committed to their purpose and whether that purpose is to win a baseball game or make a million dollars.nothing is worth giving it up!

Have a Compelling Reason

The why's or in other words the reasons you want to achieve things is the biggest and most compelling reason you will have to strive towards your goals. If you are starting a business venture that takes a lot of time and energy then in order to keep at it you have to create reasons that resonate with your deepest desires otherwise your commitment, tenacity and determination will easily stall out mid stream.

Let's say you've become dissatisfied with the way your life is going. You are not happy with the status quo. You've determined that you'd like to have enough money to gain a few more material possessions and to have more leisure time.

While material possessions are of great importance they cant be the only element that fuels your "why." Once you get all the things you want, your purpose will be gone and with it, your drive and determination. Think outside of the box and make reasons that are compelling on your various levels of existence so you will never run out of reasons to keep your nose to the grindstone. Set high goals that are inclusive of not just vacations, but the reasons "why" you want those vacations as well.

There is a phenomenon that exists among people who retire young. Studies indicate that many people who retire at age 55 double their risk of an early death than those who work well into their 60's. The main reason for this is that with the early retirement and no compelling reasons to live they lose their purpose in life.

Remaining Consistent

There is high probability that you have started and stopped other internet, home based, marketing and or direct sales businesses in the past and have run out of steam. You may have started out strong but when time went on you lost your stamina. If this is you than it is obvious that your "why" or your compelling reason to continue was not big enough for you to manifest your dreams into reality.

Perhaps it was in an area such as a home-based business (of any type), network marketing, internet marketing, internet businesses, direct sales and or other online money-making programs. And your actions toward them more resemble a roller coaster ride than an out and out fight to win.

If your why isn't big enough to drive you to do something significant with your life, then you probably won't! You may start, but you seldom finish.

How to Know if Your Reasons are Good Enough

Below is a list of possible signs that your why may not be strong enough:

Inability to achieve regular goals or procrastination Worried about what others might be thinking, or self conscious Unable to trust your decisions, worried or fearful Inability to make quick decisions that you feel good about Unsure of what you should be doing Afraid to fail or make mistakes (because you wont pick yourself back up) Lack of motivations Always planning, but never doing! Lack of organizations in actions and plans

Jim Rohn says it best.

"When you know what you want, and want it bad enough you will find a way to get it"

That's an apt description of having a big why.

Allow No Excuses

Making excuses is another way of not taking responsibility for your actions and thoughts. Starting today keep a journal of all the meaningful changes you want to see in your life. Include the small and the large changes and use this self written guide as motivation. As you connect to your reasons you will no longer be able to make excuses for yourself and your actions and will take the responsibility to making your dreams come true.
