Making money on the Internet is hard enough when starting out without a bunch of people out there just waiting to con money away from beginners or those who push canned programs designed to separate the Beginner from his or her money.
This is the reason I sat down and wrote up this list of 5 things Noobs should avoid when going into Internet Marketing. Following this advice will go a long ways in helping you get started without falling into money traps. So, here are five things you should avoid if you're serious about making money online.
SiteSell.com, aka Site Build It. I won't go as far as saying Site Build It is a scam, but many people believe it is. Site Build It is supposedly a "one stop shop" for Beginners. What they don't tell you is that you can get everything they're offering for free off the Internet. I've also looked at the so called Site Build It reviews on Google and I have yet to see a real one. The ones on the first two pages were fake reviews. It cost $300 per year. You could do a lot better things starting out with $300 than buying into Sitesell.com or Site Build It.
Pay Per Click Advertising. Sure. You can make a lot of money in a short amount of time with Pay Per Click, aka PPC, but you can loose everything in a blink of an eye if you don't know what you're doing. PPC is really for those who have an anal personality. It requires constant attention and lots of knowledge to be successful. The people who I know that do well are always running test to see which ad is effective and they spend loads of money. They'll be the first to tell you don't get into it unless your willing to lose a lot of money...kinda like the Stock Market! Once you've got some extra money to blow, then go ahead and play with it. But just be prepared to kiss that money goodbye.
MMO blogs. Or better known as Make Money Online blogs. The problem is that most people writing these blogs don't know how to make money online either. They just recycle stuff already on the Internet and fill their pages full of affiliate links hoping Newbies will click on it. Bloggers like John Chow do a good job of convincing Noobs they need the crap they peddle in order to make money online. Instead, two bloggers you could follow and learn for free are Courtney Tuttle and Griz at Make Money Online For Beginners.
Chances are if you've spent any time online you've seen a landing page pushing an ebook or make money system that promises you great riches just for buying and following them. Most of these are put out by people who aren't making any money their self. If you look them up, you'll find that they are always pushing ebooks on how to make money, but none of their websites that are supposedly making money. Save you money, everything you need to know can be found online for free.
Just as with ebooks and MMO bloggers, there seems to be a boat load of crap software on the Internet promising you great riches if you were only to buy and use it. I've bought a lot of it over the years and it's mostly garbage. The software that I use to make money online, and I don't use much because you don't need to in order to make money, is nearly all free. You can find all the tools you need online and it's free. I use Google tools for keyword research and website analysis. You could pay hundreds, if not thousands for programs that do the same, but why would you?
Sadly, many people live to take advantage of Newbies. Don't you fall into these money traps. Educate yourself about how real Internet Marketers are making money and learn from them
