There are often many and varied reasons why people would prefer to work from home.The main factor that influenced us was a desire to escape the rat race and leave behind the rigours of public transport and live in an isolated area.By Choice.!!.But we all still have a desire to earn a reasonable income at home and be your own boss.!!

But dont be sucked in by the countless get rich quick stories that abound on the internet.How many people want to read about " I tried and failed" stories anyway.The road may not be paved with gold roads to riches, the road is not paved with gold, but their are nuggets to be found if you do your research .Yes the work loads can be higher for home businesses but you have the bonus of not working for anyone but yourself.!!

The reason you are looking into make money from home ideas on the internet is because you are obviously trying to find a method that works online, rather than an offline method like mailing envelopes, which lets face it, sounds pretty boring.Obviously you can only make money two ways online.Selling a product or selling a service.

At this moment you are obviously interested in an online income based around the combination of home and the intenet.This is because most marketers realise the amazing immense possibilities an individual can achieve online for a smaller outlay than offline business model.Their are only two obvious ways of making an income which are selling a service or selling a product.!Thats it.!

If you did not have a site then you could be advertising using software like adwords which is maintained by google or yahoo ads etc.Both forms require a level of skill and this is what we will discuss briefly in this article.One of the things you would have to do would be, isolate a product line you like,work out a method of promoting it,and then find long tail words, which are easier for competition.The term long tail refers to keywords that revolve around a subject.For instance, instead of trying to compete for the word "chevrolet" which would be difficult, you might compete for "discount chevrolet in michigan" which will have less competition.

And now a brief stumble down memory lane for a pithy quote from one of the best salesman, or pen and ink men as they were referred to then.I am speaking about Gary Halbert of course..Facing a class of his students gary asked this question "if you and I both owned a hamburger stand and we were in a contest to see who could sell the most hamburgers..what advantages would you like most to have on your side to win.?"The students shouted back answers like "I would use the tastiest,freshest hamburger meat" or "my prices would be the lowest" etc etc.Gary waited and then leaned forward and said "the only advantage I want is a starving crowd" .All he was saying was that the most important element of any marketing campaign is the quality of the target market.

Internet marketing, just like other forms of marketing requires two key factors for you to research to work out if you can make a sales killing.The first is traffic levels, ie, how many potential customers there are, and the second is Visitor values.Or, what is each of these possible customers worth to me.The main problem with knowing traffic levels is are their actually buyers for this.?For instance, a search for terms like pranks and jokes etc would show huge traffic levels but with a zero level of potential buyers.A tool which is ignored but simple for traffic levels and competition is the google adwords suggestion tool.

When using Google suggestion tool go to "results are tailored to.." and click edit and choose country.Type in your main keyword and tick "use synonyms" box.I personally dont tick "dont show ideas for new keywords.." for this method.We now see the "Approx Avg Search Volumne" for a monthly guesstimate.Then we literally look for the long tail keywords from the bottom up and see if we can find a decent search number.Then if we are going for the US market we enter United states google search and see what is the number of competitors are for each term.

To find the rough numbers after using google adwords suggestion tool we search for "keywords" to find web sites "built" around these keywords to some degree.To find values of the possible customer/niche we go to the adwords tool we go to the left hand side and select "Show estimated Avg .CPC".We then multiply traffic by cpc(value per visitor) and arrive at Total market value.Anything above one million dollars per month is a definite possiblity, you just have to find long tails to get pages to rank.Generally speaking, when comparing two similar niches, the one with the higher customer value will be more profitable.!Thats when you start to consider number of competitors, strength of competitors, your products price, conversion rates, and your ability to optomise the site to compete with your competitors.
